Splunk moves Observability Cloud endpoints from signalfx.com to observability.splunkcloud.com
Splunk introduced new Observability Cloud API, ingest, stream, RUM and CDN domains under observability.splunkcloud.com while continuing to support legacy signalfx.com endpoints during the documented transition.
Previous state
API, ingest, stream, RUM and CDN endpoints using realm-specific signalfx.com domains.
Current state
New deployments and updated agents use realm-specific observability.splunkcloud.com domains and revised CSP entries.
Affected users
Who needs to care
Observability Cloud administrators, network teams, RUM owners and applications with hard-coded endpoints, allow lists, CSP rules or CDN URLs.
Required response
What to do
Inventory signalfx.com endpoint use, adopt the new realm-specific domains for current deployments, update RUM CSP directives and use versioned CDN URLs where required.
Evidence boundary
What the source does not prove
The cited documentation says legacy and new API/service endpoints can both be used and does not state one universal shutdown date for signalfx.com. The transition must not be described as a completed forced retirement.
