Google Ads API stops creation of new Smart Campaigns

Effective 3 August 2026, the Google Ads API no longer allows creation of new Smart Campaigns; existing Smart Campaigns continue to serve ads and can still be updated.

What the source does not prove

Google states only that new Smart Campaign creation is no longer supported. Existing Smart Campaigns continue to serve and can be updated; this event is not a retirement of existing Smart Campaigns.
