GitHub Enterprise Server enforces minimum patch levels for support-bundle uploads
GitHub will reject command-line support-bundle uploads from GHES appliances below named security patch levels starting 18 August 2026.
Previous state
Older supported GHES appliances could upload support bundles through command-line utilities without the new minimum patch boundary.
Current state
Uploads using ghe-support-bundle, ghe-cluster-support-bundle or ghe-support-upload will be rejected below versions 3.21.3, 3.20.5, 3.19.9, 3.18.12 or 3.17.18.

Patch GHES to at least the named release level before submitting support bundles through the affected commands.

What the source does not prove
The change governs command-line support-bundle uploads, not general appliance operation. Unsupported GHES versions still require an upgrade to a supported release.
