AWS IAM Role Manager reaches general availability for supported service consoles
AWS made IAM Role Manager generally available on 12 August 2026, allowing supported AWS service consoles to create or reuse IAM roles from AWS-managed templates while leaving the resulting roles under normal customer control.

AWS's 12 August 2026 announcement states that IAM Role Manager is generally available but does not state its prior availability state.
Current state
Supported AWS service consoles can use IAM Role Manager to create or reuse IAM roles from AWS-managed templates; administrators can enable or disable the capability and inspect the templates, while created roles remain standard customer-controlled IAM roles.
